Contractor crews will replace the current bridge with a new wider structure. The bridge will include new barrier walls, guardrail on the bridge ends and permanent pavement striping. The current bridge was built in 1960 and is in deteriorating condition. Approximately 175 vehicles cross the bridge daily. CHARLES COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an informational open-house style public meeting about the ongoing rehabilitation of 12 Interstate 70 bridges, including sharing information about an upcoming closure of the Bryan Road bridge on Wednesday, May 22 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The public meeting will be held at the O’Fallon City Hall multi-purpose room located at 100 Main Street, O’Fallon, MO 63366. No formal presentations will be made during the open house-style meeting. Attendees can stop by at any time during the meeting to view the project details and speak with representatives from MoDOT and the contractor. Starting in early June, Bryan Road over I-70 will be closed in both directions for bridge rehabilitation. The bridge is tentatively scheduled to reopen in mid-August. The I-70 ramps will remain open. To show appreciation to active service members, Missouri State Parks is joining the nationwide Blue Star Museums initiative, a program that offers free admission to currently serving U.S. military personnel and their families. The program kicks off on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 18, and ends on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2.The Blue Star Museums program is a collaborative effort of the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the U.S. Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museums across the nation. Those currently serving in the United States military and their families receive free admission to museums and historic sites that are part of the Missouri State Parks system by showing their military ID.
